How to use MyCareerCentral

MyCareerCentral is your online gateway to Careers support at UEA. Here you can find jobs and work experience, book onto events, keep up-to-date with news and opportunities. You can access hundreds of online resources focusing on CVs, applications, interviews, and a whole range of other careers topics. You can also get help with any careers questions you might have.

Where to find us online:

To log into MyCareerCentral, you can go through the Portal. Just click on ‘CareerCentral’, and then on the ‘MyCareerCentral’ button, and you’ll be taken through to our online gateway for everything related to your career. You can also access MyCareerCentral through the main CareerCentral website (see below). Alternatively, you can go to the site directly and login with your university details.

You’ll be able to login on your tablet or smartphone, so you can check for vacancies, book into events, and much more- all on the go.

MyCareerCentral: Student Guide

1. Dashboard:

  • Bookmark helpful resources
  • Follow employers
  • See events that you are booked onto

2. Vacancies:

Access thousands of vacancies every year, some exclusive to UEA. You can find:

  • Graduate jobs.
  • Internships (including UEA). – Campus jobs.
  • Part time and summer jobs. – Volunteering

Opportunities are local, national and international – simple to search and easy to apply.

3. Careers Events:

You can book onto hundreds of events every year. Events can help develop skills, build confidence, find career inspiration, and connect with employers.

They are run by the Careers Service, Schools and companies throughout the year. Bookings are made with a single click and you can track and cancel bookings as well as receive reminders about upcoming events.

4. Resource Library:

Access hundreds of bespoke careers resources, including:

  • Options with your degree.
  • Advice sheets on key career topics, such as interviews, CVs, where to start and assessment centres.
  • CV builder and interview simulator. – Employer videos and advice direct from recruiters.
  • Practice online tests.

5. Ask a Question:

You can ask any careers question that you have, or upload your CV or application for feedback from a Careers Adviser.

6. News and Notifications:

You will be able to see CareerCentral news and notifications.
